EPSILON - CHARACTER RIG




EPSILON
Created using Autodesk Maya to model+rig and Substance Painter for texturing.        

Creating this character improved my hard-surface modeling skills, and introduced me to the process of manually rigging of characters.

The manual creation of the rig allowed for much better control of the animations and deformations.      






ANIMATIONS      

When creating the animations, I knew that I wanted to emphasize the weight of the character in them; this robot is, after all, a big, heavy chunk of metal!

I took that into account when animating: having the weight distribution really drag, with the center of mass driving the motions.
